IASystem 2.10 Release Notes
New Features & Modifications
Release 2.10 updates the faculty portal with a new dashboard home page, new features, fixes, and improvements. The new faculty evaluation management option is a new feature that is now available for all institutions. This feature allows instructors to submit for their own course evaluation within the Faculty portal with user permissions controlled in the Administrator portal. All user guides have been updated to reflect this option. Processing time has also been improved for the evaluation listing pages. See below for a complete list of updates.
Updates to the IASystem™ Administrative Portal:
- NEW Control Faculty Evaluation Management Permissions: Administrators may now control Faculty Evaluation management at a department level under the Manage > Course Tree page.
- NEW Student Comments Data Export: is now available under the Results > Data Files page with System User permissions preserved.
- Improved Processing Time: Loading time has been improved for evaluation listing pages.
- Fixed Custom Online Form Management: Fixed validation code in custom online form creation to exclude single headers with no items.
- Improved Course Tree Drop-Down Display: Course tree drop-down menus now display only the colleges and departments an admin user is authorized to work with. When creating paper evaluations, the enrollment must now be a positive (non-zero) integer.
- Course Tree Restricted to Authorized Users: Policy changes made via the Course Tree page are now restricted to authorized users.
- Instructor Data File Fields Updated: Blank Email and Username fields in the Instructors data file will now clear those fields for the matching user records.
- Removed Username Restrictions when Editing Instructor: The Username field is no longer required when editing instructor and student records via Manage > Instructors and Students.
Updates to the IASystem™ Faculty Portal:
- NEW Faculty Portal Home Page: The faculty portal home page is getting a refresh with this release. It will now display a graphical dashboard displaying course evaluation statistics and response rates, along with the status summary of current evaluations. You can find the “View All Evaluations” listing in the Evaluations menu. Instructor management of course evaluations is a new feature coming to the faculty portal. We will pilot the feature with UW Seattle before making it broadly available to all IASystem clients.
- NEW Access to Faculty Evaluation Management: Instructor management of course evaluations is a new feature now available to all IASystem™ clients under the Evaluations > Order Online/Paper Evaluations page(s) within the faculty portal. (Note: this feature is available to faculty if permitted by your institution. Contact your Administrator for access and/or policies.)
